Two including Imam remanded over killing child in Demra
DHAKA, April 10, 2019 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed two persons, including an Imam, on five days remand in the case lodged over killing of a 8-year-old boy in capital’s Demra area.
Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the order, placing principal of Nur-e Madina Madrasa and Imam of Masjidul-e-Ayesha Abdul Hadi and his accomplice Md Akram on a five-day remand.
The court also sent Hadi’s another accomplice Ahammed Shafi alias Toha to jail.
Earlier, police produced the duo before the court and pleaded for a 10-day remand.
The three accused in the primary interrogation confessed that they had kidnapped Monir Hossain, 8, to realize ransom from his family. But the child died out of suffocation as they tied his mouth with scarf. They however, demanded ransom from his family even after killing him and hiding his body inside a mosque.
Police recovered the body of Monir on April 8.
