Women entrepreneurs accelerating progress: Kamrun Nahar
DHAKA, APRIL 10, 2019 (BSS) – Secretary of Woman and Children Affairs
Ministry Kamrun Nahar today said with the increasing participation of women
as entrepreneur, progress of the country is expediting to a large extent.
“Once, who were poor and jobless women, have become successful
entrepreneurs…a good number of women entrepreneurs are playing a vital role
in economic progress of the country,” she said.
Nahar said this while inaugurating ‘Boishakhi Mela’ organised under the
implementation of ‘Urban-Based Marginal Women Development Project’ of the
ministry as the chief guest on Jatiya Mahila Sangstha premises here.
She also said women affairs ministry is working to provide the women
entrepreneurs with appropriate training and networking knowledge so that they
can handle the marketing of their products effortlessly and successfully,
said a press release.
Chairman of Jatiya Mahila Sangstha Professor Momtaz Begum, Executive
Director Jahanara Begum and Project Director Nurun Nahar Hena, among others,
were present at the inaugural ceremony.
A total of 35 stalls have been set up on the fair premises where
handicraft items and home-made food are being displaced.
The festival will be open for all from 9am to 9pm till April 14.
