FENI, April 10, 2019 (BSS) – Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonagazi Model thana Moazzem Hossain has been withdrawn, a police headquarters order said today.
Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Kamal Uddin was given the charge of the OC, the order said.
DIG of Chattogram said the case filed with Sonagazi thana in connection with recent arson attack on a female madrasa student has been handed over to the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).
Madrasa student Nusrat was set on fire on April 6 allegedly for refusing to withdraw a case filed against Maulana Siraj Ud Doula, principal of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa for sexually harassing her.
Nusrat is now battling for her life at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina asked all concerned to ensure proper treatment of Nusrat.
Meanwhile, a Feni court today placed three accused of the arson attack case on remand. Main accused Maulana Siraj Ud Doula has been placed on a seven-day remand and teacher of the madrasa Afsar Uddin and student Ariful Islam were placed on five-day remand each.
