FSCD declares two Rajshahi markets risky
RAJSHAHI, April 9, 2019 (BSS) – Local station of Fire Service and Civil
Defense (FSCD) has declared New Market and RDA Market, two major business
hubs in Rajshahi city, as risky and urged all concerned to remain alert in
this regard.
In this morning, the FSCD puts on two separate banners at entry point of
the respective markets inscribing with “Rajshahi RDA Market is very much
risky in terms of fire safety. So, all quarters are requested to remain
alert”.
Talking to the newsmen on the issue, Senior Station Manager of FSCD
Shahidul Islam said, “The two markers have no fire extinguishing arrangement.
There is no water source at any adjacent area to the RDA market. So, there
will no scope of fire extinguishing if any fire incident occurs in the
market.”
Besides, goods are stockpiled in elevators of both the markets making the
peoples emergency exit blocked. Apart from, there are many electric wires
haphazardly in the markets that may occur any devastating fire incidents at
anytime, he added.
