Kazakhstan lauds Bangladesh dev in social, economic sectors

DHAKA, April 8, 2019 (BSS) – Kazakhstan Mazhilis of Parliament Chairman
Nurlan Nigmatulin lauded Bangladesh’s unprecedented development in the social
and economic sectors as Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin
Chaudhury paid a courtesy call on him at a hotel in Doha, the capital of
Qatar.

During the meeting held on Sunday evening, they discussed bilateral issues
and safe as well as peaceful repatriation of the Rohingyas to their homeland
in Myanmar, said a press release here today.

In the meeting, Dr Shirin said Bangladesh has emerged as a role model of
women empowerment in the world since the prime minister, speaker, deputy
leader of the House and deputy leader of the opposition in the House are
women.

Bangladeshi President M Abdul Hamid’s Kazakhstan visit was significant one,
the speaker said, adding that mutual exchange of visit would strengthen the
existing bilateral relations further between the two friendly countries.

In the meeting, Nurlan congratulated Dr Shirin for being elected as JS
Speaker for the third time in a raw.

Lauding Bangladesh’s unprecedented development in the social and economic
sectors, Nurlan also expressed hope that Kazakhstan would invest more in
Bangladesh in the days to come for expanding its trade with Dhaka.

He also invited the Speakers to attend the Europe-Asia Inter Parliamentary
Summit to be held in Kazakhstan in September.

Whip Mahabub Ara Begum Gini, Senior Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat
Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan and Bangladesh Ambassador to Kazakhstan Asud Ahmad, among
others, were present in the meeting.
