23.4 kg gold seized in Ctg airport

CHATTOGRAM, April 8, 2019 (BSS) – Customs intelligence officials of
Chattogram Shahamanat International Airport (CSIA) seized 200 gold bars
weighing 23.4 Kilograms from a flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines here this
morning.

Marufur Rahman, deputy director of Customs Intelligence and
Investigation Directorate (CIID), said cleaners found the gold bars while
they were cleaning toilet of the flight which came from Abu Dhabi around
6.35am.

Rahman said 200 gold bars were found inside a toilet of BG-128 number
flight.

He said CIID officials detained a Biman technician and a cleaner for
interrogation in this connection.

The market price of the gold is approximately Taka 10 crore, he added.
