Speaker mourns death of housing minister’s father
DHAKA, APR 07, 2019 (BSS) – Speaker of the Jatiya Sansag Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury today expressed profound shock at the death of freedom fighter Abdul Khaleq Sheikh, father of Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim,
The Speaker said, “The nation has lost a valiant freedom fighter in the death of Abdul Khaleq Sheikh”, and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul. She conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members, said a press release.
In separate condolence messages, Deputy Speaker M Fazley Rabbi Miah and Acting General Secretary of Awami League Mahbubul Alam Hanif expressed shock and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul of the veteran freedom fighter.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Human Rights Commission (BHRC), Dr Saiful Islam Dilldar also prayed for the salvation of the departed.
Veteran freedom fighter Abdul Khaleq Sheikh died at the age of 90, due to old-age complications while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), today.
