DHAKA, April 7, 2019 (BSS) – Freedom Fighter Abdul Khaleq Sheikh, father of Housing and Public Works Minister SM Rezaul Karim, died of old-age complications while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) here today.
He was 90, said a press release.
The first namaz-e-janaza of Abdul Khaleq was held on the official residence premises of the housing minister in the city’s Baily Road area at 10am.
Ministers, members of parliament, senior government officials, judges, lawyers and other dignitaries joined the namaz-e-janaza.
Later, the body of Abdul Khaleq was taken to his ancestral home at Nazirpur in Pirojpur district where he will be buried at his family graveyard following another namaz-e-janaza.
