336 wild birds rescued in city

DHAKA, April 6, 2019 (BSS) – Wildlife Crime Control Unit of Forest
Department rescued a total of 336 wild birds and chicks from different areas
of Dhaka and Narayanganj districts on Friday.

“The unit team led by director Mihir Kumar Dey recovered total 336 birds of
different species in separate drives from Dhaka’s Kamrangirchar and Narayanganj district’s Chashara and Fatulla areas yesterday,” Inspector of the unit Ashim Mallik told BSS today.

The wild birds include: 255 spotted munias, 50 parrots, 18 common myna,
eight doves and five mynas.

Later the birds were released in the sky, he said.
