Khilgaon fire guts 25 shops

DHAKA, April 04, 2019 (BSS)-Some 25 shops were gutted in a fire at two
markets in city’s Khilgaon area early today, Fire Service and Civil Defense
source said.

“The fire broke out at Khilgaon City Corporation Market adjacent to
Khilgaon Flyover around 3:15 am and spread to the adjoining Pubali Shopping
Market,” a fire service spokesperson told BSS this morning.

On information, 15 firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the
fire under control after about two hours of hectic efforts.

“A total of 25 tin-shed and semi-terraced shops, including grocery and
stationary, were damaged in the fire, but the cause of the blaze could not be
known immediately,” she added.

Investigation into the fire incident is going on.
