Bangabandhu’s 7th March speech best one in thousand years: Sherif

ISHWARDI, March 10, 2018 (BSS) – Land Minister Shamsur Rahman Sherif today said the historic 7th March speech of Bangabandhu is one of the best speeches delivered by the world leaders in thousand years.

“The historic speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 7, 1971 is one of the best speeches delivered by the all world leaders in thousand years,” he said, addressing the inaugural function of a two-day programme marking the centenary of Ishwardi Basherbada High School here, according to a press release.

Urging all concerned to work with sincerity to build a modern technological knowledge based nation, Sherif said the backward education system of the country is being developed as a modern one under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He also urged all to remain united to implement the government’s visions.

Later, the minister unveiled a souvenir marking the school’s centennial anniversary.

Ishwardi Basherbada High School Chairman Bashir Ahmed Bakul presided over the function that was addressed by, among others, Golam Faruk Khandakar Prince, MP, Pabna Deputy Commissioner (DC) Zasim Uddin, Ishwardi Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nasrin Akter and Additional Superintendent of Police Jahurul Haque.

Another press release said the land minister addressed the inaugural function of the annual sports, literature and cultural programmes of the Ishwardi Government College as the chief guest here today.

In his speech, Sherif urged the students to build a happy and prosperous social system resisting all evil forces.

“Four traitors of the evil forces Meer Zafar, Golam Azam, Khondaker Mostaq Ahmad and Zia-ur-Rahman kept the countrymen in the dark for a long time,” he said, adding that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is going forward resisting all ill efforts of the evil forces.

The minister also urged the students to groom themselves as worthy citizens.

Ishwardi Government College Principal Professor Dr Sheikh Anwar Hossain presided over the inaugural function which was also addressed by Ishwardi Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nasrin Akter and Ishwardi unit of Awami League President Nayeb Ali Bishwash, among others.
