Netherlands ambassador lauds Bangladesh’s dev in ICT sector
DHAKA, April 2, 2019 (BSS) – Netherlands Ambassador to Dhaka Harry
Verwejj today appreciated Bangladesh’s rapid development in the ICT sector as
he made a courtesy call on State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak at his
office here today.
“The IT sector of Bangladesh has made a tremendous development within a
short period, Verwejj said, expressing hope that Bangladesh would flourish
more in the ICT sector in the days to come, a press release said.
ICT state minister Palak, in his speech, said “The government has been
working restlessly to transform the villages of Bangladesh into cities
according to the pledges made in the 11th national election manifesto”.
The state minister apprised the Ambassador of the High-Tech park, Data
Centre, Startup Project and other projects undertaken by the government of
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to reach electricity at the doorsteps of rural
people.
Palak also expressed hope that the government of Bangladesh would get
cooperation from the government of Netherlands to make Bangladesh as a
digitalized nation.
They also had a primary discussion about the prospectus of organising
the ‘Bangladesh-Netherlands Digital Investment Summit’.
Officials concerned of ICT ministry were present at the meeting.
