Govt wants to bring back Bangabadhu’s fugitive killers: FM

DHAKA, March 31, 2019 (BSS)- Foreign minister Dr Ak Abdul Momen today said the government wants to bring back all fugitive killers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from abroad before the birth centenary of the Father of Nation.

“The foreign affairs ministry is working on it and we want cooperation from all quarters in this regard (bringing back the fugitive killers),” he said.

The foreign minister was handing over special scholarships to the students of law faculty of Dhaka University marking the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation.

Momen said the foreign affairs ministry and all its missions abroad are celebrating the birth centenary by organizing workshops, seminars and meetings.

“We have already directed all our missions abroad in this regard,” the foreign minister said.

He said the foreign ministry will celebrate the centenary by involving common people. “We can learn about the country and its history if we know Bangabandhu,” he added.

The foreign minister said Bangladesh wants to let the world know about its amazing progress during the last 10 years.

“We will let the world know about our achievements by holding various programmes abroad in next two years marking the golden jubilee of the independence of Bangladesh,” he said.

The minister also distributed books titled “Secret Documents of Intelligence Branch on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman vol-1 and 2” among the students.
