Polls open in Ukrainian presidential election
KIEV, March 31, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – Polls opened for the first round of
Ukraine’s presidential election at 8:00 am (0500 GMT) Sunday, an AFP
correspondent at a Kiev polling station said.
Comedian Volodymyr Zelensky is likely to top the vote, according to
surveys, with incumbent Petro Poroshenko and ex-prime minister Yulia
Tymoshenko vying to face him in a run-off next month.
Exit polls are expected at 8:00 pm (1700 GMT) with first partial results
several hours after.
