DHAKA, March 30, 2019 (BSS) – Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam today said actions will be taken against the concerned building owners and associations of shop owners if the markets or buildings lack fire extinguishing system.
“There has been no fire extinguishing system in the DNCC market. It is a risky market,” he told journalists after visiting the spot of DNCC marker inferno in the city’s Gulshan-1 area that broke out early today.
The renovation work of the gutted market will be completed within the next 10 days, he said, adding, “I have taken it as a challenge”.
The mayor urged the building and shop owners to work together in facing any crisis.
