Over 1.24 lakh students to appear at HSC exams in Dinajpur Board

RANGPUR, March 29, 2019 (BSS) – One lakh 24 thousand and 879 candidates will appear at the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Examinations-2019 in Rangpur division under Dinajpur Education Board from Monday (April 1) next.

“We have completed all preparations for holding the examinations at all 199 centres in a copying-free and peaceful atmosphere,” Deputy Controller of Examinations of Dinajpur Education Board Md. Harun-Ar-Rashid Mandal told BSS today.

A total of 64 thousand and 178 male and 60 thousand and 701 female candidates, from 658 higher secondary level educational institutions will appear at the HSC examinations in all 58 upazilas of eight districts in Rangpur division under the board this year.

“The number of HSC examinees has been increased by 5,938 candidates this year under the education board than the number of one lakh 18 thousand and 941 candidates last year,” Mandal added.

Of them, 28,056 candidates will take part in the HSC examinations from Science Group, 81,137 candidates from Humanities Group and 15,686 candidates from the Business Studies Group this year under the education board.

“A total of 89,659 students will sit for the HSC examinations as regular candidates, 1,418 for improving GPA, 33,800 as irregular candidates and two students as private candidates this time under the board this year,” Mandal said.

Of them, 25,480 candidates from 124 educational institutions will take part in the HSC examinations at 39 centres in Rangpur, 17,632 candidates from 80 institutions at 29 centres in Gaibandha, 14,810 candidates from 92 institutions at 24 centres in Nilphamari and 14,221 candidates from 85 institutions at 24 centres in Kurigram districts.

Besides, 24,096 candidates from 127 educational institutions will take part in the HSC examinations at 40 centres in Dinajpur, 8,861 candidates from 58 institutions at 11 centres in Lalmonirhat, 12,120 candidates from 58 institutions at 20 centres in Thakurgaon and 7,759 candidates from 34 institutions at 12 centres in Panchagarh districts under the board this year.

Adequate number of vigilance teams, comprising of college teachers as well as officials of the Education Board and retired teachers, has been formed to properly monitor the examinations.

“The local district and upazila administrations and law enforcement agencies will take adequate steps for ensuring law and order situation and congenial atmosphere for holding the HSC examinations peacefully,” Mandal furthered.

Talking to BSS today, HSC examinees Ayesha (Science), Roksana (Arts) and Beauty (Business studies) of Lalkuthi School and College (LSC), Rangpur said they have taken superior preparations with assistance of their teachers to participate in the examinations.

“We have conducted special classes for all 80 female HSC examinees of our institutions free of costs during last three months after tests examinations for their excellent results in the HSC examinations-2019,” said Principal of the LSC Abdur Rouf Sarker.
