DHAKA, March 28, 2019 (BSS) – Driver of Suprobhat Paribahan, bus that

on March 19, gave confessional statement in the case filed over the incident.

Driver Sirajul Islam gave statement under section 164 before the court of
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahasn Chowdhury this afternoon.

After recording the statement, the court sent him to jail.

Yesterday the same court had put bus conductor Yasir Arafat and helper

officer Qazi Shariful Islam pleaded to put them on 10-day remand each. Police
arrested Arafat from Shahrasti, Chandpur, on March 26 and acting on the
information gathered in the primary interrogation, Ibharim was arrested from
Middle Badda area in capital on March 27.

On March 20, another court put driver Sirajul Islam, 24, on seven-day
remand.

Abrar was run over by Suprobhat Paribahan bus in the morning of March 19
as he was trying to cross the road.

It was learned later that the same bus earlier on that morning had hit
another pedestrian, leaving her seriously injured and crushed Abrar as it was
trying to flee the scene after the first incident.

Abrar’s father Brigadier General (retd) Arif Ahammed Chowdhury filed a case
against the driver, his helper, conductor and owner of the bus with Gulshan
