DPL’s 7th round kicks-off tomorrow

DHAKA, March 28, 2019 (BSS)-The seventh round of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) starts tomorrow at different venue across the city as the team, vying for the coveted trophy set their eyes on bolster their position in the point table.

Defending champions Abahani Limited currently top the table with better-run-rate, having collected 10 points from six games. Prime Bank Cricket Club, Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club and Legends of Rupganj also have 10 points from six games but stayed in second, third and fourth position respectively by virtue of net-run-rate.

Abahani will take on Gazi Group Group Cricketers at BKSP-4 ground to further bolster their position. The BKSP wicket was prepared freshly, putting some grass on it as Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wants the players to get some practice on grassy wicket.

“I heard the new wicket of BKSP will be grassy to some extent. So it’s imperative to play cautiously in the first 10 overs,” said Abahani opener Soumya Sarkar.

One of the teams between Prime Doleshwar and Legends of Rupganj is set to loss the place from the top spot as they will battle in an important game of DPL at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Elsewhere at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will lock horns with Khelaghar Samaj Kallayan Samity.
