DHAKA, March 28, 2019 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is monitoring the fire rescue operation at the fire-engulfed FR Tower on Kamal Ataturk Avenue in city’s Banani area today, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving necessary directives to the authorities concerned regarding the fire incident,” he told reporters at the Awami League president’s political office in city’s Dhanmondi.
Expressing profound condolence over the deaths in the fire incident, Hasan said, “May Allah save us from such disasters. . . We are seeking doa from the countrymen for the early recovery of the injured people.”
The minister said the government has already taken all necessary steps to minimize the causalities. “Our fire fighters are the most efficient ones and they are working on the spot relentlessly. Lawmakers, city mayor and personnel of law enforcement agencies are also on the spot,” he added.
Hasan, also the publicity and publication secretary of the ruling Awami League, prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved families.
