Postage stamp on Bangabandhu’s birth centenary released
DHAKA, March 27, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Post Office (BPO) today released a commemorative postage stamp of Taka 10 on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
A first day cover of Taka 10 and data card of Taka 5 were also released using a special canceller.
Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar released those at a ceremony in the posts and telecommunications division’s auditorium.
Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Ashoke Kumar Biswas, BPO Director General Sushanta Kumar Mondal and officials concerned were present.
The postage stamp, cover and data card are now being sold at the philatelic bureau of GPO, Dhaka, and later those would be available at other GPOs, main post offices and other post offices.
