DU celebrates Independence Day

DHAKA, March 25, 2019 (BSS) – The Dhaka University (DU)
authorities will celebrate the 49th Independence and National
Day tomorrow (Tuesday) in a befitting manner.

A series of programs have been taken to observe the day,
said a press release.

The programs include hoisting of national flag, placing of
wreath at National Martyrs’ Memorial at Savar, distribution of
sweets and cultural programmes.

The national flag will be hoisted on all main buildings of
the university at 6 am tomorrow.

University teachers, students, officers and employees will
gather at the premises of Aparajeya Bangla at 6:15 am tomorrow
and led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman, they
will go to Savar, on the outskirts of the capital.

Besides, prayers will be held in mosques on the campus
including the central mosque Masjid-Ul-Jamia after Zohr
prayers and Jagannath Hall Upashanaloy.

The Music Department of the university will organise a
colorful cultural function at the Teacher-Student Center (TSC)
auditorium in the evening.
