Suspected robber dies in Ctg gunfight
CHATTOGRAM, March 25, 2019 (BSS) – A suspected robber was killed in a
shootout with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Chhoto Chonua
village under Banskhali upazila of the district in the early hours of today.
Major Mehedi Hassan of RAB-7 said they had information that a gang of
robbers were taking preparation to commit robbery at Chhoto Chanua village.
A team of RAB conducted a drive at the aforesaid village around 4:30 am.
But sensing the presence of the RAB team, the miscreants opened fire on them
making the members of the elite force compelled to take retaliation.
Later, the RAB personnel found body of a robber. However, identity of the
deceased could not be known immediately.
Hasan said weapons and ammunition, including seven arms and 22 rounds of
bullet, were recovered from the scene of the gunfight.
