Govt working for woman empowerment: LGRD Minister
DHAKA, MAR 24, 2019, (BSS) -LGRD Minister Tajul Islam today said that the government has adapted and implemented plans to emphasize woman empowerment.
“The government has implemented the announced vision 2021 and 2041,by assuring the participation of woman in overall development works,’ he said while addressing as the chief guest the programme on ‘Independent Woman honorary award- 2019’ at Agargaon LGED Auditorium, an official press release said.
The minister praised the firm leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and said that sustainable development is not possible without the participation of woman, as most of the developed countries as Japan, China and Singapore has assured the participation of woman in the development progress.
Presided over by the chief Engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Md Abul Kalam Azad, Senior Secretary S.M. Ghulam Farooque, Additional Chief Engineer and Chairman of Gender and Development Forum, Md. Mosleh Uddin, Executive Engineer and member secretary of the forum, Syeda Asma Khatun, also spoke, at the programme.
The minister distributed awards and prize money of taka 10 thousand to each ten award winners.
