BSMMU, TATA Memorial sign MoU on bone marrow transplantation

DHAKA, March 24, 2019 (BSS) – A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on bone
marrow transplantation was signed today between Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib
Medical University (BSMMU) and Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.

The MoU signing programme was held at Dr Miltan Hall at BSMMU in the city
where BSMMU Vice-Chancellor Dr Kanak Kanti Barua was present as the chief
guest, said a press release.

BSMMU Pro VC (Admin) Professor Dr Muhammad Rafikul Alam, Registrar Prof Dr
ABM Abdul Hannan and DMCH Director Brigadier General Mohammad Mizanur Rahman
and Tata Memorial Centre Director (Academics) Prof S Banabhali and Prof of
Pathology department Sumit Guzral were present.

The bone marrow transplantation is effective way for treatment of
complicated diseases like Thalassemia and Blood Cancer. Now with the help of
the Tata Memorial Hospital, BSMMU will be able to start bone marrow
transplantation and ensure proper facilities to the cancer patients.
