15-Day training for upazila info service officers begins

DHAKA, MAR 23, 2019 (BSS) – A15-day training for upazila information service officers began in the city today.

Secretary of Woman and Children Affairs Ministry Kamrun Nahar inaugurated the programme, arranged under the ‘Tattho Apa (Info Lady) Project’, as the chief guest at the National Planning and Development Academy, said a official release.

Speaking on the occasion, she said two main features of the Prime Minister’s ’10 Special Initiatives’ – Digital Bangladesh project and establishment of woman empowerment – will be implemented fully throughout the country under the ‘Tottho Apa Project’. The secretary also said that the underprivileged women will get access to information technology and will be provided with information technological support under this project.

She asked women to disregard superstitions and proceed with confidence, being the half of the country’s population, to contribute in the development progress with their capabilities.

Additional director of National Academy for Planning and Development A A M Nasihul Kamal presided over the programme while Jatiyo Mohila Sangstha chairman Momtaz Begum, executive director Jahanara Pervin and the ‘Tattho Apa’ project director Mina Parveen were present.

The Tattho Apa (Info Lady) project has been adapted by the government to provide access to the internet based information, e-commerce and primary health service, to a total of 1 crore woman, by the 1,470 ‘Tattho Seba Kormokorta’ (information service officers) in 490 Upazillas of the country.
