5 killed in separate incidents in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, March 23, 2019 (BSS)-Five people were killed in separate
incidents in the city and district here today.

The victims were identified as Mohammad Mostaq, 22, hailed from Lohagara
Upazila, Abdur Rahim, 28, hailed from Pekua upazila, Abdul Monaf, 60, of
Anwara upazila, Osman Goni, 29, of Bandar thana of the city and Mohammad
Sohel, 31, hailing from Sitakunda upazila of the district.

Two people Mohammad Mostaq and Abdur Rahim allegedly committed suicide by
taking poison at their respective residences. They were rushed to Chattogram
Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) at around 8 am, today where the attending
doctors declared them dead, CMCH police outpost sources said.

The bodies were sent to the morgue for autopsy, the sources added.

Motorcyclist Osman Goni was killed as a truck hit his motorcycle at
customs crossing under Bandar thana in the city on Friday night.

Assistant Sub Inspector Alauddin Talukdar of CMCH police outpost said the
accident took place around 11.30 pm when a truck hit his motorcycle from
behind in customs crossing area under Bandar thana in the city leaving the
bike rider critically injured.

Locals brought him to CMCH, where the attending doctors declared him dead.

Rickshaw puller Sohel received head injury after he was knocked down by a
Chattogram-bound passenger bus in Fakir Hat area under Sitakunda upazila of
the district at 11 am today.

He was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), where the
attending doctors declared him dead.

Elderly Monaf was badly injured as he was beaten by his nephew at
Burumchara village under Anwara upazila of the district at 11 am today.
Family members took him to CMCH, but the attending doctors declared him dead.
