BHOLA, March 22, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Tofail Ahmed today said many BNP leaders are quitting the party for its wrong politics which may lead to the party’s extinction.

“Currently, most of the BNP leaders are resigning from the party for its wrong politics… They made Tarique Rahman as their acting chairman who is a killer. Such kind of steps lead to the party’s extinction,” he said.

Tofail, a former minister, came up with the remark at a view-exchange meeting with grassroots activists of AL at a government school field in the town under the arrangement of Sadar Upazila AL.

Staying in London, Tarique Rahman did nomination business in exchange of money during the last general election, he said, adding that those who gave more money got party nominations as per Tarique’s desire.

“The BNP men do not trust one another. The workers do not trust the leaders. But, AL workers are united from the grassroots to the top under the dynamic leadership of Bangabandhu’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he added.

Bhola sadar upazila AL president and upazila parishad chairman Md Mosharef Hossain presided over the meeting.

Bhola district AL general secretary and district council chairman Abdul Mumin Tulu, upazila AL general secretary Islam Golder and Upazila AL organizing secretary Mainul Hossain Biplab also spoke on the occasion, among others.
