KUSHTIA, March 20, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif today said those raising questions over the peaceful environment of polls want to see the country unstable.
“No violence took place centering the polls. Yet, they are raising allegations without any reason,” he told the reporters after laying foundation of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman mural at Collector Chattar here.
Hanif said there have been long conflicts among the people of the hilly areas and the recent violence is the outcome of their internal feuds. It has no relation with the polls, he added.
Deputy Commissioner Aslam Hossain, Police Super SM Tanvir Arafat, Zilla Parishad Chairman Rabiul Islam and AL district unit General Secretary Azgar Ali, among others, were present in the inaugural function.
