DHAKA, March 18, (BSS)- Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) arranged a special prayer today at Sher-e-Bangla National cricket Stadium premises for the safe return of the national players from New Zealand.

The players survived a deadly terror attack there as they were about to enter the Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch for Jummah prayer. Bangladesh players themselves admitted that they were in fact three to four minutes from being caught up in massacre.

A number of national players like Mahmudullah Riyad, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and others who survived the attack were present in the special prayer.

Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, BCB president Nazmul Hassan, former captains and other top BCB officials were there during the prayer.

Bangladesh returned to the country on Saturday night, still being in traumatic condition by what happened in New Zealand. Some of the players are mentally broken still, according to the BCB president.

However some players would join their domestic club to play the fourth round of Dhaka Premier League (DPL), which starts tomorrow at different venues across the city.

The attack was taken place in two mosques of Christchurch in New Zealand which has left 50 people dead including four Bangladeshis.
