Japan condoles Bangladeshi expats killing in NZ shooting

DHAKA, March 17, 2019 (BSS) – The Japan government has expressed shock at the loss of lives of Bangladeshis in the atrocious terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand.

“On March 16, Ambassador Hiroyasu Izumi here verbally conveyed to Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, the condolences from Japan to Bangladeshi victims of the terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand,” a press release issued by Japanese Embassy here said.

Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Izumi today also issued a message of condolences addressing Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen.

“On behalf of Japanese government and people of Japan, I would like to extend my sincere condolences to those Bangladeshi who lost their lives and their bereaved families in the atrocious terrorist attack in Christchurch, New Zealand on 15th March,” he wrote to Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen in a message of condolences.

The Japanese envoy said terrorism can’t be justified for any reason, under any circumstance.

In close cooperation with Bangladesh and the international community, Japan expresses determination to stand up against terrorism and to overcome this difficult time, he said.
