Jabbar urges students to gain technology-based education

DHAKA, March 16, 2019 (BSS) – Post, Telecommunications and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar today urged the students to build themselves with technology-based education alongside the existing traditional education to cope with the changing world.

“The future world will be technology-based and it won’t be able to face the future hallenges only following the textbooks and traditional syllabus,” he said.

The minister said this while addressing a discussion marking the birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman held at the temporary campus of ‘Sheikh Hasina University Netrakona’ in Netrakona today, said an ICT Division press release.

Chaired by Sheikh Hasina University VC Dr Rafique Ullah Khan, Habiba Rahman Khan, MP, spoke on the occasion while Lt Col (retd) Kazi Sajjad Ali Zahir was the main discussant.

Mentioning that internet is the biggest source of knowledge in the world, the minister underscored the need for properly utilizing internet to reap its benefits.

Jabbar also mentioned that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has already vowed to turn Bangladesh as a middle income country by 2021 and a prosperous, developed country by 2041 through the materialization of ‘Vision 2021’ and ‘Vision 2041’ in a bid to reach the benefits of ICT to the doorsteps of common people. Besides, the Bangladesh Delta Plan 2100 has already been announced.

The ICT Minister also sought cooperation of all including the teachers and students to implement these visions and plans.
