DHAKA, March 16, 2019 (BSS) – The Dhaka University (DU) authorities today sought evidences of irregularities in the recently held Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) and hall union polls so that they can take actions through investigation.
“If anyone has any proof of any irregularity, dishonesty, vote rigging or forgery in DUCSU and hall union polls, the DU authorities will take actions through proper probe after getting evidences,” said a DU press release today.
“The students who uphold the values of DU did not allow to get fulfilled the interest of those who tried to gain political mileage by destabilising the peaceful atmosphere prevailing in the country and the university…” the statement said.
It added that the university authorities verbally and in written statements repeatedly informed that some unexpected anomalies might be in the DUCSU polls, held after three decades.
“There were some obscurity and insufficiency in the management policy. So, different questions were raised such as not using electoral stain and transparent ballot boxes. There no such culture in the history of DU polls,” the release added.
