DHAKA, Mar 15, 2019 (BSS) – Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Atiqul Islam today said crash programmes will be conducted for mosquito eradication and cleanliness purpose in the city.
“We will launch crash programmes for mosquito eradication from the city and clean up the drainage system due to the forthcoming monsoon … Concerned authorities along with counselors will try their level best in combating mosquito menace,” he said.
He was speaking at a discussion on “Mosquito Eradication and Cleanliness Programmes” at DNCC market in city’s Mohakhali area.
Regarding mosquito eradication, Mayor Atiqul also said, “We will provide all-out support to the DNCC-workers in this regard as we understand the difficulties of the workers but workers have to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity.
Warning the officials and employees of the DNCC he said, “I will undertake surprise visits. At that time, immediate action will be taken against anyone who would be found negligent of his or her responsibility.”
DNCC Chief Executive Officer Abdul Hye, Secretary Rabindra Sri Barua, Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Zakir Hossain, Ward Councilors and concerned workers of Mosquito Control and Clean, among others, were present on the occasion.
