COX BAZAR, March 15, 2019 (BSS) – Two alleged yaba traders were killed in a gunfight with rival group at Ruppoti point in Ukhia upazila of the district early today.
The deceased were identified as Mostak Mia, 38, resident in Balu Khali Dhamonkhali area in the upazila and his brother Mokter Mia, 42.
Officer-in-Charge of Ukhia Thana Nurul Islam said, on information, they rushed to Marin Drive Road but the yaba traders fled from the scene leaving injured Mostak and Mokter on the spot. They were taken to Ukhia Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared them dead.
Police recovered two guns, four rounds of bullets and 9,600 yaba tablets from the scene.
Police said they might be killed in intra party conflict for money. The bodies were sent to Cox Bazar Sadar Hospital.
