Govt giving employment of youth top priority: Hossain

KHULNA, March 14, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Public Administration
Farhad Hossain here today said the government under the leadership of Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina is giving employment of youth top priority.

Terming power of youth as prosperity of Bangladesh, the minister said the
government has taken various income-generating projects to turn Bangladesh
into a dveloped country by 2041.

He was speaking at a view-exchange meeting with benefisieries of a capacity
building project taken by Khulna district administration at the conference
room of Khulna Circuit House as the chief guest.

Khulna district administration is implementing the project aiming to make
educated youths self-reliant.

Bangladesh has huge population but it lacks skilled man power, the
minsiter said, adding that the government is untertaking various projects to
make youth more capable to do work.

A total of 21 lakh skilled people are being created with various types of
training across the country every year and the government has the capacity to
provide jobs to 10 lakh people, he said, adding that the government is giving
capacity-building training to rest of 11 lakh youth aiming for making them
self-reliant.

He also assured the district adminsitration of setting up computer lab for
the freelancers and helping trainees to get necessary loans.

The meeting also notifyed that the district administration has set a target
to make 2000 youth as sefl-reliant from August 31, 2018 to June 30, 2021 by
providing them trainings on various aspects such as outsourcing, swing and
graphics design.

Khulna deputy commissioner Md Helal Hossain chaired the meeting while
divisional cmmissioner Lokman Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of Agriculture
University Dr Md Shahedur Rahman khan, police Super S M shafiullah and deputy
director of secondary and higher secondary education Niva Rani Pathak, spoke
at the meeting as special guests.
