Booters start training in Qatar

DHAKA, March 13, 2019 (BSS)- The Bangladesh U-23 national squad, now in
Qatar, had their second training session on Wednesday.

The second training session was held from 10 am to 12 PM under the
supervision of team’s head coach Jamie Day. His assistant Stuart Paul,
goalkeeping coach Dean May and physiotherapist Simon Maltby are working
closely with the players to make them ready for the AFC qualifiers.

All the players and staff are motivated to utilize the 10-day camp in Qatar
to the fullest so that the team can go into the qualifiers at the peak of
their ability.

Bangladesh are pitted in Group B alongside hosts Bahrain, Palestine and Sri
Lanka in the AFC qualifiers. The boys in red and green will play their first
match against Bahrain on March 22 before taking on Palestine on March 24 and
Sri Lanka on March 26.

Eleven group winners and four best runners-ups will join hosts Thailand for
the final round which will be held in 2020.

Earlier, on Monday, the team reached Qatar for a 10-day training camp
focusing on their upcoming AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers.
