Husband to die for killing wife in Netrakona
NETRAKONA, March 13, 2019 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced a man to
death for killing his wife at Dakhin Kalador village under Purbadhala upazila
of the district in 2009.
District and Session judge KM Rasheduzzaman handed down the verdict to
Faruq Mia in his absence.
According to prosecution, on September 1 in 2009, Faruq killed his wife
Lovely Akter at his house and hung the body from the ceiling.
Lovely’s father filled a murder case against five people following the day.
Police after investigation submitted chargesheet against Faruq and his
mother on July 31 in 2012.
Later, the judge examining the witnesses and evidences pronounced the
capital punishment to Faruq Mia and freed his mother Majeda Begum.
