Bangladesh have undertaken true dominance: Jamieson

DHAKA, March 13, 2019 (BSS)- Campbell Jamieson, the general manger of
International Cricket Council (ICC) was delighted to see the progress of
Bangladesh, stating that they have undertaken a true dominance’ in the
cricketing world.

“It’s fantastic to be back in Dhaka, Bangladesh. My first visit in
Bangladesh was in early 1998, which is 20-21 years ago. And it’s fantastic to
see the development from the cricketing prospective in the Bangladesh Cricket
Board,” Campbell Jamieson said here today.

He was speaking at a programme in a city hotel as ICC and Coca-Cola
jointly announced that they have entered into a global strategic partnership
to celebrate one of the world’s most popular sport– Cricket and its premiere
events.

“They have under taken the true dominance in the cricketing world,”
Jamieson said, being delighted to see the progress of the country.

The partnership, however, entailed the Coca-Cola Company’s brands becoming
exclusive non-alcoholic beverage partner of the ICC for the next five years.

The agreement includes all ICC tournaments around the world including ICC
World Cup in England and Wales this year, World T20 in Australia in 2020,
upcoming U-19 World Cup Cricket, ICC Women’s World Cup and ICC World cup in
India-2023 amongst other global tournaments.

The company also announced a consumer engagement initiative named
“Englande Jao, Stadium Matao”, which will provide Bangladeshi Cricket fans a
chance to win an opportunity to enjoy ICC Cricket World Cup- England and
Wales-2019 live.

The details of the tie up and campaign were presented at a press
conference today.

Sundeep Bajoria, vice-president of South West Asia Operation, Coca-Cola,
Akram Khan, director and chairman of BCB Cricket Operations, Jalal Yunus,
director and chairman of BCB Media and Communications, Ajay Bathija, country
head of Coca-Cola Bangladesh Ltd were present in the occasion along with
other top officials from Coca-Cola in Bangladesh.

Commenting on the partnership, Campbell Jamieson said, “It is our pleasure
to welcome Coca-Cola on board as an ICC partner for the next five years.
There is a natural synergy to our partnership, cricket with more than a
billion fans is one of the world’s most popular sports and Coca-Cola is one
of the world’s most popular brands.”
