IU Press Club gets new committee
ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, March 12, 2019 (BSS)- Ferdausur Rahman Shohag of
Jagonews24.com and Shahadat Timir of Kalerkantha were elected as the
president and general secretary respectively of Islamic University Press Club
today.
The election was held at the press corner of the university around 12pm.
IU acting controller of examinations AK Azad Lavlu announced the results as
the Chief Election Commissioner in the afternoon while IU Al-Fiqh and Legal
Studies Department Assistant Professor M Altaf Hossain and section official
of controller office Kanan Aziz were present as Assistant Election
Commissioners.
The other committee bearers are Asif Khan of Janakantha as vice-president,
Sarkar Masum of Jugantor as joint-secretary, Tariq-Bin-Nazrul of
Banglanews24.com as treasurer, Abdur Rahman Rashed of Pratidiner Sangbad as
office secretary, Ahsan Naim of Ekushey Tv as publicity secretary, Abu
Huraira of The Independent as sports secretary, Rumi Noman of Prothom Alo as
cultural secretary, Iqbal Hossain Rudra of Bangladesh Pratidin, Muttasim
Billah Pappu of Samakal, Mahbub Alam Raihan of Campuslive24.com and Sohel
Rana Shibli as the executive members.
IU vice-chancellor Prof M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari, pro-vice-chancellor Prof
M Shahinoor Rahman, treasurer Prof M Selim Toha and acting registrar SM Abdul
Latif congratulated the full-fledged committee.
