DHAKA, Mar 12, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) nominated heavyweight vice-president (VP) candidate for Ducsu and its president Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon won the hearts of hundreds of students by extending his support to the newly elected 25-member Ducsu executive committee.

“The BCL has a history of sacrifice. It sacrificed in the past and will do so in the future. We’ll work together in the greater interest of the university’s congenial atmosphere and for practicing healthy student politics,” he said.

The BCL president came up with the remarks while addressing a demonstration in front of DU vice-chancellor’s residence demanding reelection to Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu).

Urging the BCL leaders and activists for working with unity to protect the congenial atmosphere in the university, Shovon said: “We accept the verdict the common students has given in the Ducsu polls and will help Nurul Haque Nur make the Ducsu effective and realise the students’ rights”.

Nur, a former human resources deputy secretary of BCL Haji Mohammad Mohsin Hall unit, bagged the VP post in the Ducsu election on Monday.

DU Sangskrit Department student Pradip Chowdhury said Shovan has won hearts of all students by accepting the polls result.
