Voting in SC Bar polls starts tomorrow

DHAKA, MAR 12, 2019 (BSS) – Voting in two-day polls to elect the office bearers for 2019-2020 of Supreme Court (SC) Bar Association will start tomorrow at 10 am.

Voting will begin at 10am and will continue till 5pm with one hour recess in the middle on election days.

“A total of 33 candidates are taking part in the election against 14 posts,” Supreme Court Bar superintendant Nimesh Chandra Das told BSS here today.

The polls held each year to elect 14 office bearers, of which seven are office-bearer posts and seven are executive members.

Das further said AY Moshiujjaman will conduct the two-day polls as Chief Election Commissioner.
AM Amin Uddin and Abdun Nur Dulal are vying for the posts of president and general secretary respectively from pro-independence White Panel.

AJ Mohammad Ali and AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon are contesting as president and
general secretary from pro-BNP-Jamaat Blue Panel.
