Former joint secretary Shamsuddin passes away
DHAKA, Mar 12, 2019 (BSS) – Former joint secretary Mohammad Shamsuddin,
also father-in-law of Agriculture Minister Dr Md Abdur Razzaque, passed away
on Monday evening while undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital in
the city.
He was 92, said an official release.
Shamsuddin is survived by two sons, two daughters and a host of
relatives and admirers, the release added.
He served the government in different capacities. Shamsuddin was SDO of
Dhaka Mahukuma in 1963 and deputy commissioner (DC) of Barishal district in
1973-74.
Agriculture Secretary Md Nasiruzzaman and other officials of the
ministry expressed profound shock at the death of Shamsuddin.
They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep
sympathy to the bereaved family members.
