Writ filed over compensating lift accident victims
DHAKA, MARCH 10, 2019 (BSS) – A writ petition was filed today with the High Court (HC) seeking its direction to give Taka one crore each as compensation to the people injured in the recent lift accident in Judge Court.
Dhaka Bar Association member Mahfuzur Rahman filed the writ today.
The petitioner in the writ also pleaded for the HC direction to form a committee with Dhaka Bar Association president and general secretary to probe the incident and submit a report in this regard.
The writ also pleaded for the High Court direction to install a new lift within 15 days.
A total of 12 people, including lawyers, got injured on March 7 when an old lift suddenly fell down in Judge Court with people inside as its cable got snapped.
