RUMI-DEATH ANNIVERSARY
Death anniversary of Masud Ahmed Rumi Monday
DHAKA, March 10, 2019 (BSS)-The 16th death anniversary of renowned sports journalist and freedom-fighter Masud Ahmed Rumi will be observed here Monday.
Bangladesh Sports Journalists’ Association (BSJA) remembers him on his death anniversary with utmost respect.
Rumi was the sports editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) before he died on March 11, 2003 at the age of 55.
He was involved in student politics before the independence of Bangladesh.
He was the organizing secretary of Bangladesh Chatra League in 60’s. One of the most popular sports personalities of the country, he was also the trainer of Bangladesh Liberation Force (BLF) during the country’s liberation war in 1971.
He was the president of BSJA for two times in a row in 1991-92 and 1993-94.
