Two killed in Munshiganj road accident
MUNSHIGANJ, March 10, 2019 (BSS) – Two elderly pedestrians were killed and
two others injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Mawa Highway in
Chanderbari area under Lohojang upazila of the district today.
The deceased were identified as Abdur Rahman Sheikh, 70, and Parosh Ali
Dewan, 65, residents of Purbo Shimulia village under the upazila.
Traffic police said the accident took place when a bus ploughed into a
roadside shop in the area around 8.45 am as overtaking another vehicle,
leaving Abdur Rahman dead on the spot and injuring others who were stood in
front of the shop.
The wounded were taken to Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex where the on-
duty doctors declared Parosh dead. The other injured were referred to Dhaka
Medical College Hospital as their condition was stated to be critical.
Police seized the bus and a case was filed with the concerned thana in this
connection, the source added.
