5 Ashulia garment workers burned by boiling water
DHAKA, Mar 8, 2019 (BSS) – Five workers of a garment factory in Ashulia got burned by the boiling water of a dying machine on Thursday.
The persons suffering from the burns are – factory operator Ramjan, Nuru, Saju, dying in-charge Monir Hosen and Kalam.
Out of five, three with major injuries were immediately rushed to the burn and plastic surgery unit of Dhaka Medical Hospital, while the other two were admitted to the East West Hospital in Turag.
Senior Station Officer of Savar DEPZ fire service Abdul Hamid told BSS that, the accident happened on Thursday night at the thread factory named ‘One Thread BD’ in Jamgar area of Ashulia.
The workers of the factory said the night shift workers were working at the factory with the dying machine while suddenly they got burnt by the boiling hot water.
The manager of the factory, Riyajur Rahman, said that the workers suffered burns due to their negligence.
