Six of a family missing as boat capsizes in Buriganga
DHAKA, Mar 8, 2019 (BSS) – Six of a family went missing as a boat capsized in
the Buriganga River after being hit by a launch in the city’s Sadarghat area
last night.
Police sources said the accident occurred when a launch hit a boat coming
from Kamrangirchar for Sadarghat terminal in the Buriganga river at 10.30pm
on Thursday. The missing persons are Sahida, Mim, Mahi, Jamsid, Delwar and
Zunaid.
Officer-in-Charge of Sadarkhat Shipping Police Abdul Razzak said, “The boat
sank near the Sadarghat Launch Terminal as the launch, ‘MV Suravi-7’ hit it,
leaving seven people missing. Among the missing, one person named Shajalal
was rescued but he sustained leg injuries”.
