NBR finds TK 80.47 lakh VAT dodging of Methodist school
DHAKA, March 7, 2019 (BSS) – National Board of Revenue (NBR) has found a VAT (Value Added Tax) dodging of Taka 80.47 lakh by the Methodist English Medium School (MEMS).
A team of Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate of Dhaka West led by Assistance Commissioner Zuyela Khanam today conducted a drive today to the MEMS and unearthed the VAT dodging.
A case was also filed against MEMS, said a press release.
Officials said MEMS collected VAT from fiscal 2013-14 to fiscal 2017-18 but did not deposit it to the national exchequer.
