Dhaka Women’s Marathon to be held tomorrow
DHAKA, March 7, 2019 (BSS)- The 4th ‘Dhaka Women’s Marathon-2019’, marking
the International Women’s Day, will be held tomorrow (Friday) in city’s
Hatirjheel area.
Sponsored by Pran Mango Topper Cookware and Duronto Bicycle the marathon is
jointly organised by Everest Academy Emogo Sports Management Limited under
the supervision of Bangladesh Athletics Federation.
About five hundred local and foreign women are expected to take part in the
marathon rally. To make the marathon a success, different students of
government and non-government universities, athletes, sportsmen, service
holders, businessmen, housewives and people from all strata will take part in
the marathon.
The 10-kilometre-long marathon will start from Film Development Corporation
(FDC) intersection of Hatirjheel at 6.30 am and end at Concord Police Plaza
point after parading the Hatirjheel area.
The participants will be given medals and certificates after the end of the
one and a half hour marathon. Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University ASM Arefin
Siddique will be present at the closing ceremony and distribute medals and
certificates.
