ICT judgement against Netrokona Razakar duo any day

DHAKA, March 7, 2019 (BSS) – The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 will pronounce judgment in the crimes against humanity case against alleged Razakars from Netrokona Hedayet Ullah Anju and Sohrab Fakir, any day.

A three-member tribunal headed by ICT-1 chairman Justice Md. Shahinur Islam passed the order as both prosecution and defence concluded arguments in the case today.

The tribunal on January 10, 2017, took into cognizance the formal charge submitted by the prosecution. At that time, there were three accused in the case, Hedayet Ullah Anju, his brother Enayet Ullah Monju and Sohrab Fakir.

Of the three, Enayet Ullah Monju and Sohrab Fakir were arrested but Monju on January 25, 2017, died of old age complications at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The ICT-1 on December 13, 2017, framed six specific charges including genocide, deportation, killing and torture, of crimes against humanity against them.
